Day 111: We Are Your Bone and Flesh.

Today we read 2 Samuel 5-6, 1 Chronicles 5-6, and Psalm 25. This story seems to point to following Jesus Christ as king and the people being a part of the body of Christ, really cool. It is reflected in the story of the people of Israel stating they are the bone and flesh and David is the King of Israel in 1 Samuel 5 verse 1. This verse is essentially repeated in 1 Chronicles 11:1 and later in Ephesians 5:30 among other places. David is unifying Israel and pointing to God as first and central, David is seeking to bring shalom to chaos, a kingdom of shalom in sharp contrast to the empire kingdom.
