Peter really was a man of great faith, because he was the only one willing to step out of the boat at Jesus’ command. Yet somehow along the way, as his he got his eyes off of Jesus and focused on the winds and the waves, doubt entered in and he began to sink.

When we start to believe the winds and the waves and doubt the Master we sink, because we have become double minded, we have begun to doubt. The word doubt comes from a Latin root, which means to waver between two minds. Doubt will drown you, but faith will enable you to walk above the storm. Today, as we consider this miracle of Jesus, we learn how to overcome doubt and stand strong in faith.
