Market Close 2 April 19: ASX 200 ends higher, advancing for the 6th consecutive session

Local shares moved ahead for a sixth session on Tuesday with bank names providing the foundation for the improvement. The Aussie dollar came under pressure after the RBA delivered a more cautious tone in the statement accompanying its decision to leave interest rates on hold following its board meeting today.
