Nurse Erica shares a personal story related to patient abandonment. In this conversation, Nurse Jessica Sites and Nurse Erica discuss examples of patient abandonment, including sleeping at work, providing incompetent care, or failure to assess patients. They also address what is not considered patient abandonment, such as refusing overtime or quitting a job without notice. The nurses emphasize the importance of knowing your state's specific regulations, scope of practice, and advocating for patients and yourself.
