💁🏻 Concept: “Binding and loosing”
These terms were part of Jewish rabbinic teaching and were used to describe the authority to make decisions about what is permitted or forbidden under God’s law. Jesus applied this concept to church discipline. 

 

📖 Bible Readings: Matthew 16:19
(Matthew 16:19, 18:17-18; John 20:23; Acts 15; 1 Corinthians 5:5; 1 Timothy 1:20)

1. The keys of the kingdom represent stewardship.
2. Binding and loosing refer to church discipline. 
3. God deeply values the purity of His church. 

💪🏼 Applications:
1. Avoid binding and loosing spiritual powers.
2. Be open to correction from fellow Christians.  
3. Submit to the leadership of your church.

🙏🏼 Prayer:
Father in Heaven, thank You for entrusting us with the keys of Your kingdom. Help us to be faithful stewards, aligning our actions with Your will. Teach us to honor the discipline You’ve established in Your church and to seek purity in our lives and community. Give us humility to accept correction from others and grace to follow our church leaders as they follow You. Protect us from misusing spiritual authority, and remind us that You are the one in control. Help us love Your church as You do and live in a way that glorifies You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
