Dubai tallest tower architect denies height competition with Saudi Arabia

 Michael Calatrava, the chief executive of Calatrava Mideast, an outpost of the Swiss-Spanish practice headed by his father Santiago Calatrava, who Emaar commissioned to design what will be Dubai's new tallest tower, has denied rumours that it is waiting to see the progress of Saudi Arabia's Jeddah Tower, before it commits to an exact height.
