US Market Close 17 Feb 17 - mixed day for stocks but Dow gains for 8th straight day

US sharemarkets rose to fresh record highs in early trade on Thursday before easing in afternoon trade. Weakness in energy and financial stocks weighed on major indexes. the Dow was up by 8 points or less than 0.1% to record highs while the Nasdaq was lower by 4.5 points or 0.1%.
