Market Close 31 July 19: Aussie market eases from record highs

Local shares fallen from record highs seen yesterday with the ASX 200 down 32 points or 0.47% to 6812. Losses for financials and consumer discretionary stocks were a drag while the energy sector made the only meaningful gains. Despite today’s loss, the benchmark index still managed to improve for a seventh straight month, lifting 2.9% in July.
