Change

When I think of how much has changed in my life time I am in awe.

Because then I start thinking about how much civilization has changed in the past few millennium.

The timescale on which I live my life seems huge to me, but in the grand scheme of things, I’m totally insignificant.

I can’t expect my life to remain unchanged when the universe is on the go as it is.

Whenever I find myself resisting change, I cheer myself up by reminding myself how insignificant I am.

I realize that seems counter intuitive, but it works, because the idea that the universe would wait for me is absurd.

In the grand scheme of things, my recalcitrance is silly and it’s good to remember that from time to time.
