The dead Christianity

This title is an irony. How could a Christian be dead? Christianity is
supposed to be the life. There is dead Christianity due to the wrong teachings
going on in certain circles of Christendom.
There are Christians who have been made to believe that all what they need is to
believe in Jesus, that irrespective of how they live their lives salvation is assured, this
is a seducing doctrine which may take many Christians to hell.
The Apostle James wrote to disabuse the minds of the Christians living in his day
from such an untruth. He simplified his teaching by telling the Christian that if
your Christian faith doesn’t go with corresponding works, that faith is dead. It’s a
faith without life. James says, you can’t say I am a Christian and go on fornicating;
you can’t be a Christian and go on living in envy and bitterness, you can’t confess
Christianity and go on living in sin.
The book of James was not written to unbelievers but to Christians. James warned
them saying,
“Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that friendship with the world is
enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the
enemy of God.Do ye think that the Scripture saith in vain, “The spirit that
dwelleth in us lusteth to envy”?.........James 4:4-5KJV”
Some of those Christians were living in sin, they were acting like the world so the
Apostle James wrote to warn them.
These are strong words from the Apostle to the Christians.

There are Christians who think I just have to confess my believing in Jesus as the
Son of God. Has that changed the way you live? Has the rebirth changed your
attitude in life?
This is not true confession; true confession ought to change your life. Like Jesus
said,
“And why call ye Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not the things which I say?....Luke
6:46KJV”
After you confessed the Lordship of Jesus, do you live your life the way He told
you to?
Christians don’t do works to be saved; they do works because they are saved. These
are works originating from the life He has graciously granted you.
To the Christian who boast in “I believe in Jesus as the Son of God” so it doesn’t
matter how I live my life, this is what James has to tell you
“Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well. The devils also believe
— and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man that faith without works is
dead? James 2:19-20KJV”
He says, you haven’t done anything greater than devils. devils also know that God
exist, they also know that Jesus is the Son of God.
Till your rebirth and knowledge of Jesus as the Son of God causes you to live the
way He has asked you to live, you haven’t done anything more than devils.
This is a very strong message from James the Apostle but it is true.
Christianity is not a license to sin neither is Grace. An accurate understanding of
Grace will cause the Christian to live a holy life. The Bible says,
“For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all
men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live
soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world.....Titus 2:11-12KJV”
