Market Close 23 Aug 16: Banks & Healthcare stocks lift market higher

The ASX 200 has finished the session up 0.7%, boosted by strong gains in the Healthcare, Financial and Telco sectors. Energy stocks bucked the trend, the only sector to finish weaker.
