Description: In this episode, Brianne Fenton gives aspiring analysts tips on how to secure an internship, succeed in an interview, and prepare for the day-to-day activities of a working analyst. Brianne shares two badge stories in this episode: first, identifying killers in a robbery-gone-wrong via social media, and second, identifying the shooter of a former ICE agent. Brianne emphasizes the importance of social media research and analysis in investigations as many criminals do not have formal ownership of much, making them less likely to show up in databases that services such as CLEAR or TLO pull from. Brianne gives insights on the day-to-day operations of an analyst working in a real-time crime center, and expresses the pros and cons of this position. Brianne is currently a Senior Crime Analyst for the South Bend Police Department.
