Welcome on this Shrove/Fat Tuesday and joining us. Everyone is getting excited, for one thing, someone brought Punchies to the church today, polish desserts. Also, Lent is coming up tomorrow, being late this year, perhaps due to the extreme cold, and everyone is getting ready, as well as Mardi Gras going on this week (and last week too). Father Anthony has been very busy these last few hours of the morning, such as getting a letter ready too, but the readings from this morning are raised, leading into what everyone is supposed to give up. Frustration is on Father Anthony's mind today, with so much to take care of today and coming up for that matter, leading to as stated before, "What are we going to give up?" for Lent this year. The history or discussion of the purpose Lent is shared and discussed as well after the first break, with it talking mostly on the 40 Days. Lent being the season of reforming, that idea/topic/concept is brought up and it's importance. Father Anthony asks everyone what they are planning on giving up this year for Lent, as well as talking about what some people have given up, such as meat or pancakes and with giving things up, we fall and we pick ourselves up Father Anthony points out to all of us in this time of Lent. The idea of us all being Whiners, or Cry Babies in this day in age is brought up along these lines of Lent, as well as bullies, that we are spoiled and the question raised taking into Lent, "Where are the broad shoulders that allow us to make sacrifice?" Towards the end of the show, Tony and Christina talk about what they are giving up for Lent this year.
