Bearing the Family Likeness - 1 John 1:5-2:6

Have you ever been told you act just like your parents or reminded how much you sound like your sibling? We all bear the family resemblance because we're shaped by them. In these verses, John explains that the family of God also has certain distinguishing marks that cause us to resemble our Father and one another. 

 

The Marks of the Family of God:

1. Holy Living (1:5-7)
2. Confession of Sin (1:8-10)
3. Aim for Holiness & Trust in Christ's Righteousness (2:1-2)
4. Love as foundation of obedience (2:3-5)
