This hymn is based largely on Jesus' parable of the 10 Virgins as well as a number of references to descriptions of heaven from Revelation. It was with these precious promises that He also comforted the flock that he was called to serve, with the reminder that we need to be ready, for we don't know when our Savior will return, or call us to our heavenly home.
