David would not have survived long were it not for his friendship with Jonathan. Proverbs 17:17 says, “A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” If you can’t overcome adversity without friends, and you can’t experience life without adversity, then it follows that friends are one of life’s absolute necessities.
