What does it meant to inspire someone, be an inspiration?
To inspire means to motivate or get someone to do or feel something. It means to show them what is possible through the way you live your life.
You help awaken something deep inside them.
People who inspire others typically are very empathetic and uplift others.
*they believe in their hearts they have a story or something to offer that will make a difference and inspire others. BUT beware there are SOME who just want their moment in the limelight - it is all about them. They truly do not care about you BUT only what you can do for them. BECAREFUL.
So what makes some people able to inspire us? Re-ignite the spark in us and make us want to become a better, healthier, stronger version of yourselves?
- They have courage
People who inspire us have figured out that if you want to make a difference in the lives of others, you have to address your own demons first. They are not weak. They are strong and have courage to push through their fears. They have faced great odds and challenges by turning their "mess into a message," so they can help others overcome their challenges too.
They are warriors and courageous fighters.
- They are deeply empathetic
I read this article from a former therapist about how people around the world have suffered at the hands of narcissists or morally-corrupt individuals. He says the most crushing aspect of a narcissist is their total lack of empathy, because they'll do anything to you and against you without any remorse. I know 100% how this feels. And I know how when this happens to you, you do feel like giving up on humanity. BUT I think people like me who in is so deeply imbedded in my soul to be empathic.
- They are loving and appreciative
They are not full of hate. Instead, they are full of love and appreciation and are not afraid to show it openly.
In that same article he says,"Look at those who've made the biggest positive difference in history. Their love, understanding, compassion and appreciation is at the heart of who they are and what they stand for."
- They believe in uplifting others
They know that uplifting others helps make more positive change in the world. They are not focused on only growing their own wealth or business. They passionately want others to succeed,
Be healthy, just live a better life.
- They use all of the good and bad of their lives to make a difference
They do not hold back. They use all of their flaws, past shames or pain and their current struggles to help uplift the world. They know that there are others out there that need to hear their stories so that they do not feel alone.
Segment plug - that is EXACTLY why I wanted to start "Squats and Thoughts." I have had sooo many MALES in my life tell me "Sshhh.. Do not tell others things that are going on in your life." Honestly that person just wanted me all to themselves. They did not like me connecting with others at all. I want people to understand that even though I come on this cast and come across chipper, sweet, kind, lovely ect, I like so many others have a story that can help someone else.
For me being completely authentic and open about who I am, flaws and all is what makes me who I am, empathic, loving and kind person.
The world needs more people who are willing to take risks and give their all to make their dreams and others dreams come true. Their example is one we should all emulate.
