The Hon. Marlene Jennings. Ms Jennings was a Liberal MP for 14 years (1997 - 2011). The first Black woman from Quebec elected to Parliament, the former lawyer and senior public servant served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for International Cooperation, Solicitor General of Canada and then in 2004 - 2005 to the Prime Minister, where she specialized in Canada-U.S. relations. Whew!
