Today’s first piece is the stately, reflective “Do You Ever Wonder Where You Go?”, a showcase for Mariam’s visionary improvised melody and lyrics. A shift in tempo brings us without pause to the minimalist, autumnal “Oh The Symphony Of Life”, a piece that culminates in a bluesy and pleasantly dissonant conversation between Bob’s Gershwinesque piano figure and Mariam’s soaring native flute. “Farewell To Winter” brings more summer into the music with a slow, hypnotic groove from a rhythm section featuring Mariam’s acoustic guitar, steady, driving congas from Craig and Bob’s ever-searching piano. “Stay Ahead Of The Game Of Life” is today’s final piece, an elegiac, native-inflected improv which provides a showcase for Mariam’s lyrical native flute and evocative nature imagery.
