The Top 8 Debate Ep. 45: The Top 8 Grid Coverage Games

Join your Hosts Daniel and Daniel in another Top 8 Debate episode.  In episode 45 we are debating the 8 highest games rated, that we have both played, from Board Game Geek. This week our topic of choice is the top grid coverage games. Grid coverage is defined by Board Game Geek as: A family of mechanisms in which players cover a grid or fill a space using a variety of shapes, such as Components: Polyominoes. Sometimes called a "Tetris mechanism", this challenges players to use shapes efficiently. It can either be the primary point of the game, as in Ubongo, or as a secondary mechanism to force players to plan and restrict their options, as in The Princes of Florence. Games that use a single piece type to construct or enclose areas-of-control (especially when in competition over common spaces) are utilizing Enclosure.
