US Close 1 Feb 17: US ends January on a negative note.

US sharemarkets ended mixed on Tuesday with airlines and financials lower but offset by gains in pharmaceutical stocks. Shares in Goldman Sachs fell by 2.0%. Investors also booked profits at the end of the month. At the close of trade, the Dow Jones index was lower by 107 points or 0.5% after being down 186 points. The S&P 500 index was down by 0.1% while the Nasdaq was up by 1.1 points or less than 0.1%.
