Mr. Chameleon - The Case of His Brother’s Murderer

Mr. Chameleon is in his office at Central Headquarters talking to Mr. Ralph Brenton.  He tells Mr. Chameleon that he is convinced that his brother, Lewis, is going to be murdered by his wife, Florence. She has been treated for the last six months by specialists for a nervous disorder.  I believe she is losing her mind. Carl Robins, the architect, is also involved.  He is staying with my brother and Florence, and she thinks she is in love with him. She has asked Lewis for her freedom, but Lewis will not give it to her. In her state of mind, she may try anything.  Mr. Chameleon says "I would like to look over the situation. Do you think that I could be invited over for dinner tomorrow night?"  At about 6:00 A.M. the next morning, the Commissioner calls Mr. Chameleon at his home. He asks him "do you know Lewis Brenton?" Mr. Chameleon says "yes, I am having dinner with him tonight". The Commissioner says "no, you are not. Lewis Brenton is dead".
