Sermon: The Sun of Righteousness

The late singer songwriter John Denver wrote in one of his songs, “Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy, sunshine in my eyes can make me cry.” The prophet Malachi also wrote about the sun, but the sun he wrote about was and is the sun of righteousness, a reference to the Christ and His coming at the end of time. When He comes, He “shall rise on the arrogant and the evildoers” and “make them cry,” “for they shall be set ablaze.” But “for those who fear the name of the Lord, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in His wings.”
