Dave Meltzer - CEO of Sports 1 Marketing on Combining Business and Spirituality

Ep #142 - Dave Meltzer, the CEO of Sports 1 Marketing and host of the Playbook Podcast, joins me on the show this week for a very special interview. Dave has built a hugely prestigious personal brand and he has been profiled by national publications such as Forbes, ESPN, Bloomberg, and others. In building his agency and business, Dave has been mentored by Gary Vaynerchuk and has adapted some of Gary's philosophies including documenting his journey as an entrepreneur, taking the time to care about all of his fans and followers, and making a strong effort to build a personal brand. Dave is also the author of several hit books including "Connected To Goodness," "Compassionate Capitalism," and most recently "Game-Time Decision Making: High Scoring Business Strategies from the Biggest Names in Sports."

After losing everything in the 2008 housing crisis and recession, Dave came to realize that he needed to blend spirituality with business. He began melding his new life and business outlook to Leigh Steinberg, the sports agent that inspired the character Jerry Maguire. The results of his transformation led him to create Sports 1 Marketing along with NFL Hall of Fame Quarterback Warren Moon as a business partner. 

Sports 1 Marketing is now one of the world's most successful sports marketing firms and Dave has been recognized as the "Sports Humanitarian of the Year" by Variety. He has an amazing story to tell and you will get a ton of value from listening to our interview.
