Bob Rae was Ontario's first (and to this point, only) NDP Premier. In later years he left the NDP and was elected as a federal Liberal MP, eventually becoming interrim leader. He's retired from politics now, as a partner in a law firm that mainly aids Indigenous people, as well as serving on human rights boards and committees. Like the commercial says, he knows a lot because he's seen a lot' and he shares that honestly & frankly, including a very frank assessment of why he quit the NDP and why they've failed to achieve durable political success and abut the "age of propanda" we find ourselves in filled with lying politicians and those who support them. As Mr. Rae describes it, we live in "a new age of deceit" and how this has led us to this moment - "we're in a dangerous time politically."
And yes, we talk about "Rae Days."
Whether you are a fan or foe of Mr. Rae, you'll find his insights, observations and brutally honest critiques worthwhile listening.

FUN - The FU_Network - the alternative to corporate media control
*note: as mentioned at the beginning of the show, we experienced some unforeseen technical difficulties in recording this interview, so the sound quality is not up to our usual level. But it's very audible and worth hearing.
If you'd like to support our mission at FU_Politics, restoring to Canadian media the intelligence, civility, opinions based in fact and a sense of humour that we've been missing, consider becoming a patron, with a monthly donation (whatever you can afford) or a one-time gift of support. Going against the grain and building a network from scratch isn't as expensive as it once was - but it still ain't cheap! So consider backing FUN - The FU_Network's FU_Politics programming, where Smartass always starts with Smart.
