At first sight Stephen's defence in Acts 7 is just a rehearsal of Jewish history from Abraham to Christ and thus of little significance to us. But nothing could be further from the truth. On trial here is not Stephen but a divinely favoured nation in rebellion against its God. The parallel with our situation today is unavoidable.
