Ireland Making Progress Towards Ratifying Istanbul Convention - Clune

The European Parliament has this week marked the first anniversary of the signing of the Istanbul convention. 

It aims to prevent and combat violence against women, and domestic violence, by setting minimum standards for a state's response to the problem. 

Ireland has yet to ratify the convention. 

However, Ireland South MEP, Deirdre Clune says the Irish government is making significant progress towards ratification:
