O’Sullivan urges fossil fuel end despite COP

The failure of the COP climate conference to agree an end to fossil fuels is “desperately disappointing”, says Grace O’Sullivan. At Glasgow last year, negotiators watered down the deal, committing only to “phase down”, not “phase out” fossil fuels. But this year’s conference in Egypt didn’t even get that far. Green MEP, Grace O’Sullivan welcomes the agreement on ‘loss and damage’, but is frustrated that there is no end in sight globally on fossil fuels.
