A stunning interview with someone who truly understands what it means to be a connector, organiser and event manager. Zoë Sparks has owned her award-winning travel, conference and event management company – Spectacular Events Pty Ltd – for the past twenty-five years. During Covid, Zoe’s pivot was to set up SunSHINE Boxes (a corporate hamper company) and also allowed a slight change in direction to take on the Event Manager role for FAN and also the Project Manager role for The Curated Plate as part of her event portfolio.
Zoë is a GAICD and she also holds a Graduate Certificate of Leadership. Her passion for small business, ‘women in business’ and supporting and mentoring young entrepreneurs led to her founding SHINE Business Women almost six year ago, and more recently she has taken on the Chair role at Generation Innovation, a program aimed at developing young entrepreneurs aged 15 to 25. She is committed to helping others become the best version of themselves and find the confidence and skills to excel in all areas of their lives.
Recognised twice as a QLD Telstra ‘Business Woman of the Year’ finalist and also a winner of Sunshine Coast Outstanding Business Woman of the Year, Zoë has a proven track record for success and achievement. In addition to the above, Zoë is currently a director of Visit Sunshine Coast, Judge for the Telstra Business Women’s Awards and Sunshine Coast Business Awards, and a Business & Tourism Committee Member on 2032 Sunshine Coast, and has authored five books.
Zoë still believes in ‘family first’ and spends lots of time with her two boys, who are now aged in their early twenties. She credits them to being her inspiration in life and work every single day, and has instilled in them a belief to always do their best, work hard, give back to others and live a full life!
Her definition of Self Love is doing the best you can each and every day. When you get up in the morning you have a choice whether it will be a good day or bad day – it is your choice. Mindset is everything. Taking care of myself is a part of self-love nd realising the benefits makes you want to do it more.
