US Close 13 Dec 18: Stocks lift on perceived trade progress

The US sharemarket improved on signs the US & China are making efforts to reach a trade deal. UK Prime Minister Theresa May won a confidence vote launched by her own party in response to the delay of a Brexit vote. Commodities mostly higher.
