Market Close 27 Mar 19: Shares recover from 5-week lows to close higher

The ASX 200 has recovered from a 30 point slide at lunch to end the day higher by 5pts or 0.09% to 6,136. The improvement was led by a turnaround in the financials and materials which were both among the main drags earlier in the session. Lynas (LYC) continued to climb after rejecting a $1.5b takeover proposal from Wesfarmers (WES).
