Healing like Jesus

We are all in need of healing. This was an early statement that Pastor Phil Kniss made in his sermon on healing and caregiving. Continuing our worship series  on practices of the church, Pastor Phil used Isaiah 35:1-7, Luke 9:1-6, and Acts 3:1-16 as texts to speak to the brokenness of the human condition and of God's desire to bring us back to shalom, to wholeness. Too often the church has a limited view of healing as being what a sick person needs. Pastor Phil encouraged us to look at how the church can be a healing community, seeking to bring all of creation into shalom, to bring God's Kingdom here on earth, as it is in heaven.
