Equities are slightly off following yesterday's strong move higher driven by good news on the Omicron variant, Biden's confident remarks on making a deal with US Senator Joe Manchin, and then topped up overnight in China with Hang Seng equities pushing higher on strong remarks on stimulus towards the real estate sector from a local government; the comments were later pulled back. The positive sentiment is feeding into higher US interest rates, a stronger USD against most currencies and especially the JPY, with gold moving lower.
