6.21.20- Need Understanding? There’s Another In The Fire!

This Sunday we are starting a Summer Sermon Series on the book of Daniel.  It's titled, "There's Another in the Fire."  The theme reflects the events of Daniel 3, the account of "The Three Men in the Fiery Furnace." 

Here's how three men ended up in a fiery furnace:  King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, the most powerful man in the world, built a huge statue of gold and demanded that all people bow down to worship it.  Three God-fearing men refused to do so.  So the King punished them by tossing them into a fiery furnace.  

But the men were unharmed.  King Nebuchadnezzar looked and saw FOUR men, not just three.  The fourth looked like "a son of the gods."  The LORD God Almighty had protected his sheep.  It wasn't too hard for him, even in these terrible, godless circumstances!

That's essential for us too: wherever we go, whatever we do, anything that comes up...there's another in the fire.  He is the God who saves us.    Scripture verses to read beforehand: Daniel 2:1-16, Daniel 2:17-23 (sermon verses) and Matthew 7:15-29.
