Habakkuk receives a vision from Jehovah concerning the coming destruction of Jerusalem at the hands of the Babylonians. This vision disturbed him greatly because he could not understand how a righteous God could use a wicked nation as the instrument of his just judgment. Habakkuk enters into a dialogue with God in order to understand.
