Lauren Mcnairn, 16 years-old, is taking a leap and making a difference with her story. She started acknowledging that a piece of her was different from a very young age which led to her finding out she had autism. Following her diagnosis came a misconception from herself and others ultimately leading to severe bullying and a constant feeling of loneliness. Over time Lauren was able to accept and understand her diagnosis better, but mental health struggles still continued to knock on her door step. Lauren found herself in depressive states which led to a suicidal attempt and pushed her into a rebellious state. She started drifting away from who she truly was, but her passions re-grounded herself and always got her back on track. Creativity runs throughout Lauren all the way to her core and in times of distress she escapes through her creativity. She loves being a performing artist and singing, dancing, acting, and social media all allow her to express her true self. Lauren is wise beyond her years and shares her story with great pride and is hopeful that you will too!
