Judy Kimmel, Board Chair of the Peace Alliance, joined her husband of 50 years to share her part of the story that Joel had shared in previous Hope Story Circles. Having been married only 7 months, Joel had a very serious skiing accident. In a dream, Judy experienced a vision that provided deep confirmation that he would recover. She didn’t know what form it would take, or how - but she knew that he would survive and be okay. The lessons they both took from the long experience of healing related to surrendering, holding vision and intention, and out of this came the perception of the distinction between doing and being. We are all familiar with 'to-do' lists on the doing side. On the being side, they shared the tool of writing 'have happened' statements. ‘Have happened’ statements state the vision, and the purpose it serves — and then they are released, and we allow them to become.
