Morning Report 20 Jan 21: Stocks advance as investors focus on the start of the Biden era

US sharemarkets advanced on Tuesday as investors bet on additional fiscal stimulus after US Treasury Secretary nominee Janet Yellen said highlighted the need for more government support for the US economy. At the close of trade, the Dow Jones index rose by 116 points or 0.4%. The S&P 500 index was up 0.8% and the Nasdaq index rose by 199 points or 1.5%.
