#04 Briana Begins

I've known Briana for over ten years. When we first met, she was a little different; she was a man, baby. Now she lives her true life as a woman. Briana came on the show to talk about her journey. We discussed her transition, the humiliation that dead-naming does to a trans person. We addressed depression, suicidal thoughts, traveling with identification that labels you as a male when you present as female on the outside, and younger children who may identify as trans and when is it the safest to allow them to start hormone therapy. The conversation was deep, personal, and I'm grateful to Briana for being open and honest during our discussion. No matter what your stance is on the trans community, this conversation will hit you emotionally.
