Vern has set the record twice for reaching the summits of the tallest mountains on each of the 7 continents, He achieved the current record at age 57. He has climbed each of those peaks at least 10 times, including Mount Everest, Kimimanjaro and Denali. Mount Denali is in his adopted home state of Alaska and he's climbed that now 57 times.
