I love having you come buy and while I drop motivational truth bombs that are sure to get you running towards your goals as fast as possible. Today I want to talk to you about your emotions. You see the thing is that you should really leave them at the door because to be frank with you people don’t want to see them. But to be even more frank with you it’s also because people will take them and use your emotions against you.
Now you may be thinking John, what are you talking about? Our emotions make us human! And I know that, I am fully aware of it but let's say you were at a business meeting and you’re trying to land a big sale. If you go into that meeting with your emotions on your sleeve and you’re having a tough day the people you are trying to negotiate with will see that and know how to push your buttons to get the best deal for them not for you.
Or maybe you don’t manage to make a deal at all because you were frustrated and angry with something completely unrelated to your potential client that made them upset and feel uncomfortable with you and not want to do business together because you came across as a mean and angry person who isn’t worth working with. That’s why you need to leave your emotions at the door.
