EU Parliament votes on McGuinness nomination

The European Parliament votes this morning on the appointment of Mairead McGuinness as EU Commissioner for Financial Services.

 

The outgoing MEP for Midlands-North-West was nominated by the Irish Government following the resignation of Phil Hogan over the golfgate scandal.

 

McGuinness was grilled by MEPs last week and is expected to receive their backing today.
