Mid-Session 19 July 19: ASX 200 forges ahead led by mining and bank names

The ASX 200 leapt higher in opening trade on Friday, reflecting gains for banks. Additionally, commodity prices were boosted by a weaker US dollar which in turn delivered gains for the miners, gold miners in particular.
