Market Close 1 Oct. 2019: ASX 200 recovers after RBA cuts rates to new record low

The Aussie market has roared higher after the RBA decision to cut interest rates to a new all-time low of 0.75 per cent. The 25bps cut was the third cut by the reserve bank since June this year. The ASX 200 (XJO) closed 54.5 points or 0.8 per cent higher at 6742.8 but had a relatively quiet start as investors remained on the sidelines. The rate call was not a big surprise as most analysts and economists expected a rate cut.
