Kelly confident new owner of GAA birthplace understands its history

2014-10-09

The Fine Gael MEP and former GAA president Sean Kelly believes the new owner of the Hayes hotel in Thurles, Co Tipperary understands its historical significance. The GAA was founded there in 1884. Because the new hotel’s owner is a Tipperary native, Mr Kelly believes he would better appreciate its landmark importance. Speaking from the European Parliament [Sept 2014] Sean Kelly says the new owner will also understand the commercial value of preserving the hotel’s history.
