Mid-Session 17 Aug 17: ASX 200 breaks above the 5,800 point mark

The local share market is rising higher for a fourth straight day, with the ASX 200 up 0.3% to 5,803. Gains from mining & consumer stocks are helping to offset a heavy fall in the Telco sector after Telstra’s change to its dividend policy disappointed investors.
