How do we find fellowship with God? From where do our conviction and knowledge of God come? By what means does God execute his redemptive plan?
The answers to these pertinent questions form the bedrock of the biblical faith; faith that is predicated only upon the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
This same Christ who is the word of God, instituted the very means by which his people will receive the gift of his salvation. Through godly men called the apostles, the foundations and doctrines of the christian faith were laid and presented to the redeemed, all richly encapsulated in the written word.
Christian fellowship stands on the eternal purity, holiness and righteousness of God. This is the Apostolic doctrine, it is the source and foundation of the christian faith. There is no other.
We can only fellowship with the God of Light when we have been convicted and purified by the Apostolic doctrine, given by Christ himself to faithful men through whom he gave us his written word, sufficient for our salvation and sanctification. There can be no fellowship with the God of Light by one who walks in darkness.
"If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth." (ESV)
