Market Close 16 Sep 21: ASX lifts to overcome weak jobs release

Aussie shares closed higher on Thursday despite a weaker than expected August employment release. While the ASX 200 eased from morning highs, it still added 43 points or 0.58% to 7,460. Myer shares jumped 16% on its FY21 profit numbers while Wesfarmers increased its takeover offer for API.
