This is about a young woman in a fight for her life. A young woman I have watched grow from a child into a woman. She was stricken with a very rare form of cancer. She is the fifth documented case of this cancer she has and has made treatment difficult to say the least. I have lost a friend younger then me to cancer already, and I know we all have been touched by this disease.

Gina Nowak has had her cancer surgically removed. It was a horrendous process as you can see in the pictures. Her battle is still in the first round however. There are remnants of the cancer cells still inside of her. She needs to get a special Proton beam therapy. The therapy takes 35 days. There are 27 places in the US where she can have this procedure done. None of them are in NY.

Gina will take up her fight out of town. I have watched her mom struggle to get her into a facility. (At the time of this writing she has not been accepted anywhere yet) When they are accepted her mom and her are going to be forced to pack up and travel immediately. I know how difficult it is to get in a cage and fight out of town, I couldn’t imagine being forced to fight for my life away from my support group.

This is where I need your help. December 16th, 2018 a benefit is taken place at 3741 Walden Avenue (VFW Post). There is going to be a Chinese auction and bake sale. I know it is a busy time of season right now. If you can’t make it, she has a GO Fund me page. I never was really to good at asking for things and writing this seems presumptuous to me. The money is important though believe me when I say it is needed and will be put to good use or I wouldn’t get involved.
