Welcome to Pastor Curt's Pulpit. For those who are new to this podcast, I am an Ordained Elder in the United Methodist church, currently serving at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Lincoln NE. You can follow me on my website pastorcurt.com, on Twitter, @magelkyc, or on Instagram, @magelkyc.
On Sunday I preached on 2 Samuel 6:1-5, 12b-19. In this passage, David is bringing the ark of the covenant from it's temporary home to Jerusalem, David's City and the capital of the unified Kingdom of Israel. The procession of over 30,000 people is filled with celebration, worship, sacrifice, and dancing. David's dance for the Lord is so enthusiastic that it even caused David's wife Michal to lose all respect for him. In this sermon, I reflect on the importance of ritual and the need to live our lives in a worshipful attitude every moment of every day.
This sermon was recorded during worship on July 11th, 2021.
